South Ribble Action Day – 21ST June and Miyabi's Meal

Lancaster CF have been invited to attend South Ribble Action Day on the 21st of June (after exams) Loraine Fullbrook is a fantastic candidate and I want our branch to show her our support.

In the evening we will be celebrating the day with a meal at Miyabi. This will be the final official CF event of the academic year and will act as a final goodbye and good luck to our leaving members and also an opportunity to relax after the exams!

This will be the first political event for the new executive so I would be delighted if you would show your support. The details for the event are as follows:

There will be an opportunity for both canvassing (interaction with residents) as well as delivery (leafleting)

However if you are not comfortable talking to local residents then do not worry as you can just deliver.

There will be no expense for the day and last year was enjoyed by all. I would very much like to see as many of you as possible to support Lorraine and to give an excellent impression of our branch.

Meet and greet with Baroness Warsi

On Saturday 26th April Lancaster CF will be hosting an event with Shadow Cabinet member Baroness Warsi. It is an excellent opportunity to meet and discuss your views with high-profile member of the party. The event will be taking place in Furness Lecture Theatre 2 at 12.30pm .

If you want anymore infomation about Baroness Warsi, please vitist the Conservative party website through this link Conservative Party .

AGM - Friday 2nd May - Week Two

It’s the time of year for our AGM again and we’re holding it on May 2nd, (Friday week 2). The AGM involves a meal, the passing over of the Executive and a great night out – generally tending to involve large quantities of alcohol.

We’re going for some drinks first so we’ll meet on-campus at 6pm in Furness Bar to leave at 6.15pm. Then we’ll be heading to The Sun for a drink at 6.30pm until heading to The Royal Kings Arms for 7pm. The meal will be served at 7.30pm so if you’re just meeting us there please be no later than 7.15pm.

I know there’s lots of times there so as long as you’re at The Royal Kings Arms at 7pm you’ll be sorted! The meal includes:

Avocado and Spinach Salad
Roasted Leg of Lamb
Caramelised Apple Tart
Coffee & Mints

Sun Dried Tomato and Saffron Risotto is the alternative main course for any vegetarians. The meal is £23 which includes bottles of wine on the table which will be a mixture of red and white. After the meal we’ll be going for some drinks in town and then head off to the Sugarhouse. We’ve got platinum tickets which gives you queue jump and free entry and its promised to be a good night out because it’s the weekend of Roses so lots of people will be out other than CF.

If you want to come to the AGM please email me, including if you want the vegetarian meal. It’s recommended that all candidates standing in the elections should attend the AGM as it’s the official handover of the Executive.

I hope to see lots of you there,

Vicky
Social Secretary

SOCIAL ACTION CAMPAIGN

A big thanks to all those who took part in the Social Action Morning. I think we made a real difference and it was a worthwhile activity.

I just received the below thanks, I think it just shows what a real difference we can make in the community.

I hope that the level of support continues and Lancaster CF can continue to use its membership to the benefit of those less fortunate.

‘Please thank your group for the work they did at the centre on Saturday it was very useful as you can imagine these jobs take up so many man hours it is difficult to get them done during the week.
Regards’

Centre Manager
